Shenubian Boasman is a visual director and mixed-media editor. Her work seeks to unveil the intricate hidden layers of human experience — emotion, memory, and self-discovery. Inspired by the universal nature of these elements and how ethnographic backgrounds shape them, Shenubian creates mixed-media projects that range from films to music videos to interactive video installations.
Shenubian’s work bridges the timeless allure of analogue techniques with the innovation of digital workflows, driven by a deep passion for creating unique visual experiences. She finds joy in mixed media animation, blending scanned textures, manipulated images and frame-by-frame techniques to craft layered, captivating visuals. As an apprentice in 16mm film production, she's embracing the process of shooting, developing, and digitising these formats, drawn to their tactile, hands-on nature. Her love for working at the intersection of traditional and modern methods shines through every project, ensuring that analogue artistry not only endures but thrives in contemporary production.
